Unable to create new characters/Nose saves as pinkish color?

So two issues here...Just recently downloaded the newest update, 1.8.5 because I wanted to check it out.
First issue:
I was able to get in ok, I get to the screen that shows your last played character and see the little message that tells you some of your chars' markings may have changed due to the new setup of things.
Alright, no big deal. I'll just go back and edit my chars and everything will be ok. Or well...So I thought.
I edited my first Canis character and noticed the colors of his ears and tail did not match. Ok, I'll just edit that bit and change his markings back, how hard can that be? The color selector menu is a bit different and took me off guard, having tabs next to the swatch and hex box instead of a little menu below, took me a bit to figure out what tab was what but once I got that straightened up I changed what was needed until the char looked as he should. Saved, was brought to the char selection screen, noticed his nose saved as a pinkish color. I didn't choose the nose to be that color so it confused me. Went in and did the whole process again, saved, and he still came out with a pink nose XD. I'm guessing this is just another glitch given to us by an update that's choosing to be picky with me and saying "No, all your chars MUST have pink noses, its a new fad" :>? Lol, I get it, game is still a major work in progress so nothing's going to be perfect just yet, I was just curious what might be going on and if it's been made a known issue?
Second issue:
Well none of my chars want to load into the maps, I either get stuck on the loading screen with the banner of the map's name flashing at me, Stamina bar and all that visible, or I load into a map and don't spawn at all (meaning I can see the map but I can't see my character nor move). I figured I might as well try making a new char just to see if it might set things right and I'll be able to run around for a bit. But I went to Create New, and of course I have all the options available including Canis and Felis which I unlocked shortly after I first got CS, and it turns out that the "create" button has disappeared, so I can no longer make any new chars be it Suricate, Canis or Felis, it just shows the blank character doing it's thing and no matter where or what I click or try nothing seems to happen. Another glitch, or am I just missing something?
If the previous CS version still works to play with then I can switch back to that, I saved the download somewhere on my computer (or I can just restore from my recycle bin), but I just thought I'd give the newest version a trial run and so far I've not been able to get any further than trying to fix my otherwise broken woofuses XD *shoulder shrug*, would be nice to see this sort of thing fixed but its not like I have the time to be sitting on a game all day anyway so I'm in no rush :>, besides the pink nose does make my char that's suppose to be fierce and ferocious look like a cute overgrown pupper which is kind of amusing. But still probably good to bring these problems to the attention of the staff, if they aren't known yet. Thanks in advance for any possible solutions or answers, comment if you may want or if you're having the same issue (that is...If that's allowed)! Also sorry if this sort of thread already exists or if there is a solution for it that I just overlooked ^^'.
