Currently I'm not really fond of the way titles work, since having the chat updated to show different thina depending on what channel you're on, I feel like titles just clutter the chat and don't really offer much to you guys. We could do something much more exciting, even including it on the character's name tags on screen too.
Staff and good noodles already have symbols, maybe you'd like to do something involving symbols both in chat next to your name and on your nametag? Maybe titles can only affect your bio?

If you guys have ideas for something having to do with titles or nametags, or just want to say something about them go ahead and post here

Alternatively, it just appears next to your character name in game to cut down on clutter. Either way, I'm thinking something small is the way to go

^ I agree with kaoidi! Small symbols in the chat/on your characters name tag would look really nice imo!

You could have the actual name of the title in the character/user bio. But just symbols on the tags/in the chat would prevent excessive clutter I think!

It'd be neat to see symbols as replacements for titles in the chat - maybe only one displays at a time, next to any 'special' symbols (like good noodle & the like). Not sure if that'd be too far from the 'title' aspect if we just did that,though, so I dunno - maybe have it available on name-hover in the chatbox?

edit to make this clearer and less 'both ideas at once':

idea 1: just make custom symbols rather than full titles

idea 2: maybe/maybe not symbols, but title can show on username hover in chatbox?

I think this could work pretty well! Maybe in full profile it could lose the symbol and have more room for the title to be in plaintext, but in the chatbox it'd be nice to bind it to a symbol so it won't stretch anything.

Titles work like achievements right? I spammed noises and got the squeaker Title is why I ask.

With that line of thinking maybe divide them up into tiers:

- Common
- Rare
- Legendary

--Common wouldn't show in the chat, it would just be something reserved for bio and if you hover over someone with cursor/smell them then it would change the display to like: "Squeaky Wailing" for a little bit.

--Rare would have the same features as above except an option to always have these showing by the character name (like nametag, not in chat).

--Legendary might have an icon in the chat along with all aforementioned perks.
---Maybe some titles have an optional bio skin you can get too. Like Destroyer Title (legendary one) awards a bloody bio theme or something for killing 50k animals idk.

I just think it would be fun to have these be something to show off and work towards. Also, there could even be another division of titles/icons that are tribe specific. Like if you get a certain amount of members so you get a tribe title/icon. Then for PVP there's specific ones as well. If an icon/title is going to be in chat then it needs to be important, telling me a PVP player is going to kill me (hostile), or that a person completed something really hard, or that a tribe is big enough to get that icon/title. Superfluous things might clutter the chat up a little too much, so give things a purpose.

If I misunderstood how titles are awarded and stuff then just disregard all of this LOL I'm still clueless mostly.

Yes, the titles work like achievements! It's nice to have things to strive for, right?

Bio themes I LOVE IT!!! That would be a really sick way to show off someones achievements, you sniff them and get a really nature theme or bloody one, almost like your character can smell it on them! I love that idea.

I like the idea of tribe achievements as well and having special icons for tribes that achieve things. These could be goals that maybe the tribe as a whole has to work towards to get a really shiny icon next to their tribe name.

As for the PVP thing, I mentioned on Twitch about having a bounty system to both fulfill role play scenarios and to curb naughty player behavior on a global scale. Players who get a high enough bounty will probably get a real scary skull icon or something of that nature next to their name when they talk in local chat, and maybe players who act as mercenaries and have accomplished taking down these bounties will get an icon in their name too to show that they mean business. Either of these icons would be hard to get, and characters who earn them will probably get a little bit of fame in game!

On a more personal side, should friends in your friends list get an icon or should their name appear to be a different color to you?

When it comes to friends I think it would depend on how the chat system is going to work.

Like if it's tabs for RP, GENERAL and TRIBE chats then probably color coding friend names from general public names would be convient. If it was all one chat which color coding for RP, GENERAL and TRIBE messages then an icon would be needed. Probably. Idk what y'all have planned
