Yes, I know the flight demo is just a demo and is not the finished product. As well as what I am writing here is based on the flight demo, but here are a few things I wanted to say about it.
First off, I'm not going to lie, the bird model is absolutely amazing and is awesome! As well as the sitting animation and the ability to hover in one place, which I love. But below is simply some ideas/improvements to some things to it. As well as what I think of it. Which I'm sure a lot of this is probably already applied/going to be applied to the raptor when finished.
I.) The Running Animation: Now I like how it is but I think some more life could be added to it, perhaps some head bobbing to show that there is some sort of weight and is pretty hard to keep in one place. I also think when running the wings should flap about a bit with each bound as if it is trying to keep it's balance. Though without these it's fine anyway, this is simply an opinion.
II.) Flying (Head Movement): This may come later or not at all, either way I just wanted to put this down. I think when flying in a circle, pressing 'W' all the way around into a loop, the head should move according to the direction of flight. For instance, while doing this 'loop, it' head would lift beak would point skyward as it does this until it returns to the 'idle' flying position.
III.) Lifting Off Animation: I love it! I think it's fine the way it is(minus some taking off glitches)!
IV.) Leg Positioning: I don't know 'bout this one. I mean the legs are fine but I feel like maybe it would look better if the legs folded up beneath the body instead of trailing behind it in flight?
Suggestions:
I.) Landing button: Maybe instead of face-planting into the ground, when you near the ground you can press a button to land correctly?
II.) Injured Animation: This could be used for RP purposes. As some types of birds act injured to lure predators from their chicks, maybe this could be implemented for such reason?
III.) Perches: Being able to land in trees or grasp branches? I don't know if this is possible but I thought it would be cool.
