Well, canines in general I suppose. I've done so much research on dogs over the past two years in the dog community. I've learned a lot about behaviors, breed histories, things on color, etc. So I'll share some things I know!
I do warn, thought these are mostly facts, it DOES get on a lot of peoples nerves. If you get angry about any of the information here, that's too bad honestly.
Here is some information on REAL wolfdogs
First, this chart, VERY accurate
Posted here by a blog I can credit for being real, VERY good information here: wolfdogeducation.com/
They teach a lot about wolfdogs, and how things like huskies, GSD's, etc are NOT wolfdog like at all. I can agree, and after doing some research I see!
Wolfdogs are usually put into contents of low, mid, upper, mid-upper, lower-mid, etc etc. Generally if somebody says their "wolf dog" is 70% "Timber wolf" or some such like that, they were either told a lie by a breeder trying to make money off of those "wolfy" puppies, or the breeder themselves had no idea and assumed the parents looked wolf like and so they are a wolfdog.
High content wolf dogs generally do not have defined markings, like huskies, this means no eyebrow dots and such. They usually don't have white tail tips either. They have small roundish ears, not big ones like GSD's, or a huskies.
Wolf ears, Husky ear, GSD ears, Czechoslovakian Wolfdogs
A Czechoslovakian wolfdog is a very low to no content wolf dog.
As you see, the top image being a wolf's set of ears, they are much shorter, rounded, fuzzier, etc. While the dogs below have longer, sharper, less hairy ears.
As for eyes, look for eye color. If they claim their dog is some high percentage wolf dog, look at the eyes too, high-content wolf dogs and wolves NEVER have blue eyes. Their eye colors are usually yellow, diluted yellow, etc. NEVER (okay maybe very very very rarely) blue. Rarely ever will there be a mid-content wolfdog with blue eyes, and that is on a rare occasion that it shows up.
Now for the profile!
Wolves do not have a define curve in the face, they have a slope type deal. While dogs have a defined slop, a curve would you say. A lot sharper than a wolves.
For example
That is a wolf
and this is a husky, notice the difference in the slope on the faces? It CAN vary though.
Here are some other dogs with different types of snoots
Like a sighthound such as a Borzoi, a Silken, and an Irish Wolfhound

I can also recommend blogs and accounts of people who own REAL low to high content wolfdogs if asked :}

Pitbulls
We're talking REAL APBT. The American Pitbull terrier.
Here are some good blogs with information on American Pitbull terriers:
apbt.tumblr.com/ (A lot of pictures of ripped conditioned dogs too!!)
pulldogs.tumblr.com/ (They also have a beautiful pure APBT named Ruby.)
Now I'd like to start this off with this fact, there is no such thing as a nanny dog. For the love of god do not have your dog "babysit" your kid, don't leave your dog alone with your young child. Even I, somebody with a lab, who is VERY well behaved and is a service dog and is well trained, I would never leave alone with a young child.
APBT's are NOT evil, nor do I think they're evil. But they were bred, and their purpose was to fight other dogs. Period. BUT, that does not make them bad. In fact, they're EXTREMELY people friendly! They're horrible guard dogs. But, with that past comes DA/AA (dog aggression/Animal aggression). This can come in at a very early age, I mean very early. There are records of little pitbull puppies actually attacking each other, not play fighting, actual aggressive attacking. Terriers, the group that they are in, are actually prey driven for things like hunting rabbits, foxes, etc are more prone to DA/AA, but the APBT being bred for it directly is REALLY high up there. I've seen awesome dog trainers who socialized them well, trained them well, etc. But, the dog had DA which was not the owners fault, it was not how they were raised, they were just prone to it. There is a spectrum, for likeliness of having it, though having a bad past can increase it, there is still a chance to be on that dog aggression/no dog aggression/mild aggression spectrum. Crate and rotate is always a thing!
Remember though, these dogs are not bad, and it's not always the owners fault! Never blame the owner unless you know the situation!!
Now for the color, you may see a lot of people posting things of craigslist like "PureBREAD blue/red nose pitbull"
Well there is no such thing as a blue nose or red nose pitbull. If they are saying that, that is a red flag for a crappy BYB (backyard breeder) Red nose and blue nose are backyard breeder terms for pits.
Here is a good image showing the differences between these breeds

Training
I have my own service dog I raised and trained on my own. So I gotta know something right? LOL.
Anyways here is my opinion: Cesar Salad (Cesar Mil) should not be trusted. His methods are VERY outdated.
Back about 20 years ago, the dominance theory in dogs/wolves was disproven, by this, I mean the whole fighting for alpha shit. Alpha is mom and dad, they have pups, they grow up, they stick with each other, when mom and dad dies, they all spread out and find a new mate of their own to start their own packs. This is how a wild system works. HOWEVER, there IS artificial alpha's, which is how this theory came about, when put in a small area like how these wolves were studied, they try establishing a rank with another wolf. This often happens at dog parks in small spaces, BUT when that dog leaves, the order is usually back to normal. At home, in a more comfortable environment, your dog will not try to dominate you, no. They maybe dominant in the sassy "this is mine" kind of way, BUT they are not trying to be alpha of you ever. This is only in dog parks with other dogs/certain dogs in a dog park. They do not really know what to do in an artificial environment like that.
Do not, I repeat DO NOT ALPHA ROLL YOUR FREAKING DOG. I Cannot!!!!! Stress that enough, alpha rolling does NOTHING. It confuses the dog more than anything. You are not showing them dominance, you are not making things better. Do not. ALPHA ROLL. Do NOT pin your dog to the ground, that is the same thing it literally does nothing.
What you need is stimulation, depending on who you are. I personally like most training types, because there is a difference between abuse and a little spooky stuff. Research your tools ALWAYS, and do what works with your dog. Positive reinforcement for good behaviors you want to see more off, negative punishment for bad behaviors that need to be stopped. There is also redirecting for bad behaviors, and all sorts of things.
NEVER hit your dog, rub it's nose in it's own urine/poo (just like alpha rolling it does nothing but confuse), Do abuse, or tackle your dog for misbehaving, etc. You will get nowhere and you suck.
NEXT
Remember EVERY dog has a job, and depending on the breed, they need to work! Do your research before getting a dog! This maybe a BIG factor on how you will have to take care of a dog.
Like how the APBT's job was for dog fighting, you may run into the issue on needing to crate and rotate if there are other dogs in the household. Muzzle training, and avoiding off leash areas and dog parks are best. This all comes with the breed, so please, do research!
For Sighthounds, these guys were built for SPEED. They are very very prey driven dogs, if you have a weak stomach I don't suggest it, but you can look up sighthounds hunting down rabbits. They are super quick, and they will NOT let go. They will chase and chase. They will also rip things apart... They LOVE to run, racing, lure coursing, etc is actually fun, and it's good work for them! Do your research on your sighthounds, because some will just run and run forever unless you get a dog who likes to come back and you train a solid recall, some thought will like to stick by you and prefer sticking to you rather than running off.
Herding dogs, a lot of herding dogs are high energy, and they will need to work or they will destroy every inch of your house, eat your doorknobs, break your kennels, and destroy everything in sight. If you do not want to get up and work your dog, I do not recommend dogs like Border collies, Malinois', etc. They need job.
Speaking of Mals, German Shepherds, Tervs, etc. Bitework, protection work, etc are fantastic! If you getting a working line dog, they will have that drive, and they LOVE working. They LOVE to bite bite bite! Bite work is some amazing stuff. This isn't training a dog to be aggressive, bite work is mostly all on command, and boy, do they love chasing people down. These dogs are generally bred with the drive to do this stuff, they are not just "punched in the face and starved" to be aggressive, they aren't even really aggressive either! It's just a high drive to bite and work.
Retrievers, like what I have! Do like to retrieve things, they are not very prey driven dogs, if anything not at all. They have soft mouths, and are to bring back water birds, even rabbits and do as little damage as possible. They have low prey drive because they will not shake and tear apart what you caught like something with high prey drive like a sighthound would.
Terriers. Terriers, which is the group the APBT is in, they are generally more animal aggressive because most terriers like sighthounds are supposed to track, and kill wild animals of a certain type. Jack Russell terriers were meant to go into fox holes and chase foxes, along with Foxhounds. Rat Terriers, well, you know. Meant to find and kill rats.
NEXT
Foods that are poisonous for your dogs, we all know chocolate, grapes, alcohol, etc, etc.
Garlic, isn't super toxic, it can cause some thinning in the blood, and if given too much can cause damage, but even a couple cloves of garlic won't hurt too severely. The research was done by giving the dogs TONS of garlic, like TONS.
What I do warn against is xylitol. That stuff is scary. That stuff isn't just in foods, candies, etc. It's in every day items, a small piece of something with xylitol is scarier than anything. It causes almost immediate organ failure, it is absolutely horrifying. It can be in your soaps, shampoos, any beauty products, even some clothes have xylitol for some reason. But it is highly HIGHLY toxic for dogs, cats, etc.
I do warn, thought these are mostly facts, it DOES get on a lot of peoples nerves. If you get angry about any of the information here, that's too bad honestly.
