I've seen some people saying they're having trouble treasure hunting, or it takes forever to find the treasure, so i thought, why not just make a guide about it!
So you want to go treasure hunting? Well first you have to go to either Veal or Chestnut.
If ya want to do it the easy way, go to your character you want to play as, click edit, go to the bio tab, and set your map to
Chestnut or Veal. If ya want to do a lil explorin and do it manually, here's how vvv
ɢᴇᴛᴛɪɴɢ ᴛᴏ ᴄʜᴇsᴛɴᴜᴛ:
You can get to Chestnut by going through the portal in the tree in Tombet, then going to Bergen, then keep going straight, take a left turn and you should find yourself at a place called "Tree Strait". Go in there and keep going straight until you find the Chestnut portal. Chestnut is having problems loading as of now, so i'd just go to Veal until they get that fixed.
*^^ignore all of that rn, the paths have changed^^*
ɢᴇᴛᴛɪɴɢ ᴛᴏ ᴠᴇᴀʟ:
Go to the Northwest corner of Tombet and go into a portal that says "Barley". Once you get in there, go left or right to get out of those tunnels, then go straight until you get to where you can either turn left or right. Then turn left, and go through that narrow path until you get to the portal into Veal.
*^^Ignore all of that rn, the paths have changed^^ Will update soon*
Well now that you're in the treasure hunting area, here's how you actually treasure hunt!
Walk or run around while pressing E. When there's a pop-up that says "You caught a whiff of something!" That means treasure is around you. When I see that message, I usually look around my character to see if anything is falling down, because as soon as that message pops up, the treasure falls around you somewhere and you can see it fall sometimes.
If you didn't see it fall down, walk around in that general area until the question mark above your head starts wigglin. Then start pressing E and walking around and some messages will pop up. When you're really close, the question mark will start wigglin pretty fast. If you get the message "It's around here somewhere" that's the closest you can get, so you should find it pretty fast. If you look around on the ground when it says that, most of the time you'll be able to see the rock and from there ya can just go pick it up.
There's 3 things you can find by treasure hunting:
Arrows- Used to buy things in the market or from future NPC's.
Larva- Gives you lots of stamina if you used any.
Gastroliths- Pretty much just rocks.
If you find a gastrolith, you can turn it into a gecko NPC and she will give you gems. You'll have to pay arrows for her to take them tho. She will take up to 5 gastroliths at a time, so I would just wait until I collected 5 before I turned them in. It will cost 100 arrows for one rock, 200 arrows for 2 rocks, and so on.
Gems don't do much as of now, but they have rarities. To look at your gem collection, click on the red paw in the right corner of your screen, then click on the "Collections" tab. There are colors that show the rarities, green being the most common, and purple being the most rare.
ʜᴇʀᴇ's ʜᴏᴡ ʏᴏᴜ ɢᴇᴛ ᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ ɢᴇᴄᴋᴏ ɴᴘᴄ ᴛᴏ ᴛᴜʀɴ ɪɴ ʏᴏᴜʀ ʀᴏᴄᴋs:
Go to Bergen (directions in "Getting to Chestnut") and search for a passage called "Halcyon's Heart. It's hidden in the map, so it might be a bit hard to find.
As soon as you get into bergen, go straight, then right until you get to a bridge. Stop at that bridge, n then just rUN and jump off the edge into the water. There will be lil hills in the water, and the pathway to Halcyon's Heart is hidden in those hills. Then, when you see the gecko, press E to turn in ya rocks.
Sometimes Bergen and Chestnut won't work but most of the time, Veal will work.
