So it has recently come to my attention that there is currently an ongoing issue with the server where people are losing their accounts and having them wiped in order to regain access to them, causing the loss of characters,
arrows, and whatever else that can't be salvaged right away. This issue happened to me earlier today (luckily I was spared and was able to get back into my account after a restart of my computer), so it occurred to me that I should save anything and everything I can of my characters and arrows. Below are some things I am handing out for free use to help any that remain unaffected by the issue to use in case their accounts do fall victim, as it can happen to anyone and has already happened to many.
For starters, it is best you save your character's appearance. How I did mine, was I went to the chosen character I want to preserve, and took them to the editor. Next, I screenshotted the General, Markings, and Add-ons I and II tabs for reference, in case they would need to be recreated. Save these screenshots in a place where they'll be easy to find, such as in a folder called Cereal Soup somewhere in your Pictures. To take screenshots, please visit this thread here made by the wonderful wailing .
Alright, now we get down to the nitty gritty. Once you've done as instructed above, head on over to the Colors tab in the character creator. This is where it becomes time consuming. What you'll need to do is open a word processor, such as MS Word or Wordpad (notepad works too). Before you get to typing, save the new document in the same place you saved those screenshots for easy retrieval, you may call it whatever you want but I just called mine "CharacterName colors and bio". Basically what you're going to do is you're going to write down every single color code on your character's palette, so the R, G, and B values, and the hex codes. It is important you get everything written down, because these are what makes up your character's colors, and without them you are going to be playing hell trying to recreate from memory (unless you're an elephant).
NOTE: A hex code is a way of specifying color using hexadecimal values. The code itself is a hex triplet, which represents three separate values that specify the levels of the component colors. The code starts with a pound sign (#) and is followed by six hex values or three hex value pairs (for example, #AFD645). This will save time when creating a character.

ANOTHER NOTE: I am aware that the character creator is not perfect (yet), and I know that it tends to switch up the hex code you put in. However, I've discovered that if you switch the middle two and last two digits, then press enter, the creator will change it to the hex you originally wanted.
Get every color tab written down in the document and save PERIODICALLY! There's nothing more defeating than getting a lot of work done and losing it because you forgot to save progress. Below are templates you may use to this information, given I've already saved my characters, here are clean versions of what I wrote down.
Canis:
Felis:
Suricate:
NOTE 3: The R, G, and B represent the three sliders you can use to make colors in each of the color tabs. R corresponds with the R slider, G with the G slider, and B with the B slider. The #000000 is the hex code that is given to you below the three sliders in a color tab. Change the numbers in the templates I have provided to whatever you may need to.
Once you have done all of that and have the document saved, head on over to the Bio tab to get any information you want from that. Copy/paste the bio into the document to save it, so you can have it for later.
NOTE 4: YES! You CAN copy/paste things to and from the text fields in the game, so it is possible to copy/paste your character's bio from the editor and into the document, and visa versa. If you have any characters who have long, well thought-out bios, I recommend you do this. To copy/paste, press ctrl and c at the same time (ctrl+c) to copy, and ctrl and v at the same time (ctrl+v) to paste.
This can be tedious work if you have a lot of characters already, but trust me, you'll thank yourself later. Now I don't have to worry too much about the issue happening to me since I have all of my characters' information stored on my computer, and when you've taken the time to do all this yourself, neither will you.
I hope this is a help. If you have any questions, ask here or PM me and I'll get back to you as soon as possible~
