How long it take before they grow up?

Yeah I bred them but they got abandoned by the parents so I took over. They're roughly a month old right now. They will be fully grown at 6 months old which is their teenage stage.

Looks like you have a blue check homer, a grizzle homer (blue probably) and im not sure what the last homer's color is. All racing homers though. If you have any pigeon care questions i can probably answer them. I have a lot of racing homers and have done a lot of research on them health wise. There isnt a vet around me that will care for pigeons so i have to do the vet work.

Absolutely! Like dogs or cats, there are many domestic breeds to choose from. More so than both species mentioned combined even! Super easy to care for too ive found.

lament yeah it's really sad, the other one wasn't doing well either and he died on monday. Heartbreaking; I couldn't stop crying; I always get attached to animals and sometimes they don't make it through, which really hits me hard. I'll wait for it to be spring/summer when I next let my squabs hatch, it'll be a lot warmer for them and I'll have built an aviary by myself by then. I'm getting everything on Tuesday for it so let's hope the rest of my pigeons are gonna be happy.

Yeah me too, i always hear people call them flying rats but they're the sweetest creatures when you know how to handle them

Also remember not to feed them bread they can get canker (which is deadly) from that!

Oh my I used to have a brown/white pigeon. Then he flew away, oops. There's so many pigeon breeds out there that it hurts my head. Regular ones seem to be the most popular though. Aaaa I have this junior pigeon that when I go to touch her she'll start cooing sweetly, it's funny because when she does that she usually pecks my hand so I grab her beak gently and I wiggle it about. The reason she pecks my hand, I read, is because she is sad that I leave her for so long, so she gets 'mad' at me lol.

It's so interesting and awesome that animals have the same thoughts and feelings like us sometimes..
My dog, for example, acts often like a human (or a cat XD). I'm worried about that but also kinda satisfied XD

Hey Nowai totally curious. What do their bands say? Racing pigeons in the US generally use AU (american racing pigeon union) bands. One i can remember off the top of my head is AU 2017 NWM 576, thats my pet pigeon Babys band, the NWM stands for the racing club im in (Northern Wisconsin Michigan Flyers Club)

I'll check them in the morning but I'm unsire what they say. I know they're racing homers, they were going to get killed if I didn't rescue them. It's a cruel world for pigeons in the fanciers world. I wanna rescue all those ones that are in similar situations. I want to build a sanctuary for abandoned pigeons. It'd be beautiful omg.

She has sass but today she let me pick her up without even struggling or trying to break free. She's a clever pigeon she is so she might one day attack a friend haha. Yeah that's so intriguing that animals can be more caring and loving than us at times,
I've seen animals not leaving a human's side when they know they'll pass. Or doing the opposite, hiding away in corners so not to upset their human. I had mostly birds and cats as pets ranging from wood pigeons to budgies to racing homers etc so I've seen their love mostly but you can find so many videos online of animals showing love and respect that no human's acts could compare to.

Ah yeah with dogs they mostly think that they are the human. Whilst cats think that we are weird cats haha.

I'd love to keep pigeons, but where I'm at, it's extremely dangerous for any kind of fowl. We get foxes and coyotes and raccoons and owls, and although I have chickens, they're in a special kind of chicken house/pen so it's a lot more difficult for predators to get them. It still happens, though. The only way I'd be able to keep pigeons is if my dad built me a secure cage for them, but I'd still be concerned about them getting killed in the middle of the night. They're beautiful creatures though! We have doves at work, and although they're slightly different, I can't help but watch them throughout my shift
