The link has to end in an image format like .png, .jpeg, .bitmap, .gif, etc. It might be better to upload your images to an image hosting website rather than a file one, but I do know Dropbox supports image hosting using Carousel- except if you want to get the link to the image you'd still have to right click and choose Copy Image URL/Location !!

Even though I scan once in a while with some of the best virus detectors(Definitely not Norton xD).
