Uhm.. Aah... I'm not the best at art, and I only have the ability to freehand since when I make all the little circles and squigglies I screw it up. .3.
I ALSO DO NOT HAVE A TABLET. I'M GOING TO BUY ONE WHEN I TURN 17/18 BUT THAT'S 3/4 YEARS TO PRACTICE ON PAPER .
I do have a deviantart page... but I really just want people to enjoy my art since i'll be posting it here. .3.
I take requests if anyone wants me to take a swing at their charrie, but remember I only do freehand so it might not come out exactly the same
>>Colored is for commissions on DA
>>NOTE THIS! I openly take tough love criticism. It's what's going to make my art better by far if you are going to comment. Don't sugar coat me plz.

1.) I need a picture of your character or an extremely detailed description for reference. (second option will be less similar) 2.) I only do headshots! 3.) What you get is what you get.
1.) I only take up to four requests from a person 2.) Extra must be from friends or people I respect.
Past requests placed here

Ah, nice freehand work! ;w; I know how it feels to not have a tablet lol it was a while before I got my own, but traditional art is fun and like you said, years for practice! Practice is good. Takes a bit to get the hang of a tablet though lol.
What I might suggest to you, as someone who's been there, I know from personal experience that teaching yourself to draw can take a while and the best way I tought myself was referencing photos. While freehand is awesome and referencing might not be as fullfilling, it is actually one of the best methods to teach yourself anatomy. That and repetition. So eventually you'd be able to freehand what you had been using references for. ^w^ That's a good way to practice in my opinion.

Haha, thanks for the tip(s). And I still have a long way to go. I really don't watch TV and all since it's mostly useless, so I don't really have anyone to reference from, but I might just look into looking at some cartoons just to up my skills. Any suggestions?
I actually had about a couple months of practice from art when I was complete crap, but all she did was sit there and give us a suggestion of what to do with an impossible amount of time to do it. So, I quit public & private schooling of the shit, work on school with my mother, and practice my art on me own. ;3
Anyways, again, thanks for the tip(s), I'll make sure to try them out! ouo
Cookeh Queen It doesn't have to be a TV reference! But as far as those go, if you want to focus on canines, Balto, Oliver in Company, and The Fox and the Hound are good movies with a lot of movement in terms of canines, but with simple and easy design that's more or less easy to get a handle on. There are others Still, you can find a lot of screen caps of them online, and if you really want to draw more realistic animals, you can find plenty of free-to-use photographs you can trace over and reference to get a feel for the body shapes. That being said, there are a good handful of artists on deviantart that have free-to-use resources and tutorials you can look at as well. All quite helpful~ ;w; But I would suggest that once your comfortable, try experimenting and developing your own style more.
As far as art in school goes, art classes really don't get "good" until you're in high school. Because that's when it's taken more seriously. I learned a lot in my high school art classes. ^w^
